Made for the practical work of tending a hive, the Copper Hive Tool is used to separate sealed frames and hive boxes, lift frames, and scrape away excess wax and propolis. Its slim profile and angled ends provide useful leverage while allowing the beekeeper to work with control.

Hand-forged in Austria by PKS from a solid copper alloy, it is a durable, rust-resistant alternative to the familiar steel hive tool. Copper alloys are also valued for their naturally antimicrobial surface properties. A polished finish and incised ornamentation make it a gratifying tool to own and a thoughtful gift for a beekeeper.

Suggested Use

Insert the flat end between hive boxes or beneath the ends of the frames, applying gentle leverage to loosen propolis seals and lift the frame. The chisel-shaped edges may also be used to scrape away excess wax, propolis, and other buildup from frames and hive components.

Care Instructions

  • Scrape away wax and propolis after use
  • Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly
  • Resharpen or regrind the working edges as needed
  • The surface may darken and develop a natural patina with use; polish occasionally if a brighter finish is preferred

Orders ship from our warehouse in upstate NY via UPS, FedEx, or USPS and usually leave our warehouse in 1–3 business days. If you need it sooner, expedited shipping is available at checkout.
